The CCSO Fingerprint Center provides Live Scan background checks for individuals who need state and federal backgrounds, state only backgrounds and Fingerprint Cards (Live Scan FD258 and SF87 Ink Rolled).  If an employer is sending you, please make sure they have provided you with the 10-digit authorization code, the ORI number and reason for printing (childcare, adult dependent care, Private Party etc.)
*PLEASE NOTE* We cannot process “Swft” for OPM / DOD or a SON number- You will have to find a PrintScan location online.  “Identogo” for TWIC / TSA, or Hazmat is located at the MVA in Waldorf.

Fees

The Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services lists additional fees on its website.

  • Full background (FBI and State): $58.00                       
  • State only or FBI only background: $40.00                   
  • FD258 cards and SF87 Ink Rolled Cards: $21.00                                             

ID Requirements 

You must have a physical, un-expired photo identification at the time of your appointment.  (Drivers License, State ID card, Passport, Military or Government ID) We cannot accept expired ID’s, Apple Wallet ID or a photo of an ID.  *Expired ID’s can be accepted ONLY with proof of renewal. 

Current year Student ID’s can be used if under 18 and accompanied by an adult with valid ID.  

NCIC for Outside LEA 

If you are being sent by a law enforcement agency for NCIC, you are required to provide an authorization letter from your command on agency letterhead, specifically stating your name, your agency NCIC code and that they are requesting you to be fingerprinted for NCIC.

CCSO Fingerprint Center technicians are not trained to answer any questions pertaining to the MSP website and licensing portal. They are not required to know current handgun laws and regulations or the application process.
